Brian's Retirement

"I was prepared to just order carry-out and pickup beer to celebrate at home, then my kids said we need to make this a big deal! I contacted [Hooked on Forever] Lauren after my daughter found her on Instagram. She really knows how to pull together a party, even on such short notice! She made it extra special and offered up her Polaroid camera so we could take photos with all his friends, coworkers, and best clients!"

After more than 45 years of owning and operating his own business, Brian was ready to spend his days relaxing at home and spending time with his grandkids.

In collaboration with his wife, closest friends, and family - a true surprise party was arranged to celebrate Brian's retirement.

Brian enjoys playing Golf in his spare time, therefore it only seemed appropriate to rent out a beautiful room at his local golf course. We were able to mask the party as a simple celebratory family trip for Sunday golfing. However, a much bigger surprise awaited him!

I worked with a small, woman-owned vendor to prepare a beautiful charcuterie-style buffet of meats, cheeses, crackers, dips, fruit, and sweet treats. Alcohol and a liquor license was also provided by the Golf course under contract.

Amanda was unable to buy or store decorations at home, without giving away the big secret! Therefore we worked together to build a theme, color scheme, and supply/ decoration list for the event. I was tasked to purchase and store materials at my own home until the morning of the celebration. The last task for their big secret was to create, print, and mail invitations for the event, while keeping Brian out of the loop.

Arriving early, I set up rentals, tables, and decorations, as well as ensured food was ready, and drinks were bubbling! The last task was not asked for, but to help create a few more memories before retirement, I created a surprise photo booth for all to enjoy!

After the festivities, I returned to tear down and clean up the space so that Brian and his family could relax and enjoy their special day on the green without any more hassle.
